G Chords
Here is a chart of G chords. The G Major scale has one sharp, which is F#. To play this scale, just refer to the scale pattern for C Major in the Free Guitar Scales page, and move it up six frets, starting on the root note G instead of the root note C.
You can move many chords up and down the fingerboard to change keys. The photo shows a guitarist barring across the entire fret. Barre chords which are played across the fingerboard in this way allow you to transpose chords up and down the fretboard. For example, if you play a barred G chord on the third fret and then move it up to the fifth fret then you are playing an A chord.
